For Kurt Schenk, the art of meditation is not the title of his new book but his personal path and the key to his works. Born in 1953 in St. Pölten, Lower Austria, Schenk has had anything but an artist’s career. As a competitive athlete he was a member of the national soccer teams of Vienna and Lower Austria, as a full-blooded entrepreneur he built up a small beverage vending empire, and as a cosmopolitan he lives in the beautiful places of this world. He was inspired by life in Florida/USA where he lived with his wife for five years. “For the universe I began to be interested only when it began that I was totally overloaded! Maybe I wanted to go up there, far away from the stress!” “Far away from stress” this was the initial spark of Kurt Schenk. He bought brushes, paints and canvas, first paintings were created.

“Painting is a kind of meditation, in which a window opens through which I may look”. Motivated by a friend and gallerist, the first exhibitions emerged which made it clear that the development of Kurt Schenk now became the development of the artist Kurt Schenk.
